4.5 rounded up to 5. This was so interesting to me. I loved the exodus, finding out how they built a new society and the characters. I love disaster movies and this sort of reads like one.
Two quibbles-I hated the ending. And all the flashing back and forth.
But a solid book that I will keep thinking about.

Was just really struggling to suspend disbelief on this one. So they can’t manufacture boots or anything, but they can do wild gene editing only four years into their exile? It had a solid start but once they jumped ahead 20 years it lost me.
