3.91 AVERAGE

So I now have another favorite author. I have read two of Ashley Elston’s books before this one and loved them, but they were both romance so I had no idea if she could write a good mystery. Well she definitely came through, this book was amazing! This novel was just as incredible as her two romance novels whilst being a totally different genre. This book never ceased to enthrall me! It was suspenseful, twisty, mysterious, and every other adjective that you want attached to a mystery. If you like mysteries at all please read this book! I will definitely be reading all of Ashley Elston’s books from now on!

I loved that the events slowly unfolded in different viewpoints. I also enjoyed how other mysteries were taking place within the story.

This book was a nice break from all the romance I've been reading lately. I read her other book The Rules of Disappearing and really enjoyed that one and I thought I would give this one a try. At the end it felt a little predictable but it's still a good YA thriller.

Veronica Mars without the snark.

Making my way through Ashley’s backlist

This one was twisty! A bit hard to understand/navigate with accents and characters via audiobook, but I was intrigued the whole time. Didn’t quite know who did it, but also wasn’t super surprised as it had to be one of them.

This book was so unexpected and entertaining!! I loved the slow burn of the mystery and romance... and the relationships were all done really well. It’s a very intriguing concept and it was done well!

I swear to God, teenagers don't actually keep this many secrets from their parents. I know I wasn't the kind of kid to hide anything, but I can't imagine even the most rebellious of my friends just, not telling their parents how deeply involved they were getting with a literal murder investigation. Teenagers are not this good at keeping secrets. I know it's not real, but like, I had a hard time believing that a crush and a kind-of relationship over text would compel the main character to do any of the things she did in this book. Also, the whole ending kind of fizzled for me.
