I'm kinda sad that this one fell back into the same sorta SL as a lot of the early books. I was hoping to have some more information about Murder and that weird haunted house. And I'm definitely looking for more Blay and Quinn, that's one of the better developed relationships. All in all, it wasn't bad but not my favorite either.

Oh, my.

What to say?

Ummm...in all honesty? It tanked for me.

I found the storyline weak and Payne, who should've been a kick-ass heroine (ala Xhex, perhaps, but sexier?) was everything BUT. I also found Manny's and (LORD-PLEASE-FORGIVE-ME-FOR-TYPING-THIS) Vishous' story lines to be too neatly wrapped up and tied off with a pretty bow. Furthermore, Qhuinn's premonition? Uh, perhaps I don't recall, but I thought that the only one who could see into the future was V. That felt kind of like it came out of left field. Let's see...what else? I had several issues with this book but mostly it's that it was nowhere near as strong as many of the other books. Hell, I was really disappointed with Phury's book and this one is just a notch BELOW it for me.

Yeah, I wasn't fond of it.

It didn't even move us along in the BDB world! I don't really care a whole lot about the whole Lesser thing, but I didn't really get too much out of the epic battle that's to come, other than Xcor's potential involvement. Is it that the antagonist in this series will now be a new batch of non-Brotherhood warriors and not so much the Omega's lessers? I am Le Confuzzled.

And wait...shouldn't we have gotten a little more insight on Mhurder? For some reason, I thought we'd know more about him in this book.

*sigh*

Lover Unleashed gets a C- from me (also known as a "Meh") and that's really disappointing because I adore this series as a whole and expected so much more.

Great, as all the books in the series. Payne and Manny are a wonderful couple and their relationships are charming and touching. Interesting plot, as well as funny appearances of the characters from the previous books and new heroes. I enjoyed every page of this book and consider it as a must-read!

If you are a fan of the series, you will like the book. I wanted to give it 3 1/5 but of course that is not an option. There were parts I really liked and other I felt lacking. I did feel a little lost at times having been so long ago that I read V and Butch's book as V and Doc Jane were touched on a lot in this book and Butch's tale also is important.

As with John Matthew's I felt the end was rushed and was left wanting about 100 more pages. The end flew by quickly and one of the conflicts seemed wrapped up too quickly and too nicely for my taste.

The build up to the "first time" for our main lovers was not what I expected having blushed earlier in the book. Although I felt this book was sexier than some of the others and I was, for the most part, satisfied in that department.

I did want a little more roughness from Payne, I guess I expected her to be a little harder of a character being a warrior and all. She was definitely not weak but was almost child-like at times. Manny, I was in lust with and liked his character just fine ;)

In the end, I am still a fan. This was not one of my favorites but I liked it all the same. I do think before I read the last, whenever that is to be released, I will reminisce with the brothers by rereading the series.

Yeah, I've really got nothing so say except that I am having fun, escapist listening to these...I am rather engaged in this series at the moment and I am just not thinking too hard on it. The crazy classism and sexism of this world is just not stopping me.
