I wish we could give half stars. I think this book is actually 3.5 stars not 4. I liked this story but there were times I felt like can we just get on with it. But it took a while for JP to build the story so it could all come together at the end. I seriously thought oh no this isn't how Alex Cross ends is it.. I am now ready for the next book. Thanks JP for building your next start into this story I can't wait.

OMG. When an audiobook has to spend 15 minutes at the end to describe the motivation and plot then you know it's a crappy book. I am ok with twists and surprise endings but this one had to hold our hand through the whole plot. I am also quite irritated that patterson has chapter breaks right in the middle of discussions. Does not make sense and its very maddening when listening to a character comment then narrator says "chapter 101" then a character replies to the previous comment. ARRGH.

wasn’t my type of thriller, couldn’t connect with any of the characters, i’m sorry james😔.

Wow, THAT was fun!

Not a fan of the super short chapters, but it did keep up a good pace. Well crafted story.

Maybe Alex has lost his magic (or Patterson, et. al.) It was "good, not great". Too much technical gun info early on... then plenty of graphic gore. Eh.

Probably my least favorite Alex Cross book. The story seemed so disjointed and a bit chaotic.
