This book freaked me out, it was so eerie. I really liked it, it had enough magical realism that it was believable but not over the top. A great Halloween read.
While not as gritty as The Winter People, still a great read from McMahon. What this novel lacks in visceral creepiness it makes up for in atmospheric suspense and a well-woven plot that will keep your attention until the final page.
I love the way McMahon weaves a story. This story was different than the last one I read. This book was suspenseful, I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen. I usually feel uneasy and scared, but this book just made me feel anxious. I love how the different point of views and therefore different knowledge builds until the end.

I liked this! I thought the twist was fun and I thought the time jumps were well done.
Another disappointing ending. There should have been more hints throughout the book.
