Excellent thriller!

I struggled a little at the start and honestly almost DNFed it but I'm glad I stuck with it. As an older sister with a disability, this story spoke to me in a way I can't describe. I felt the metaphor was talking directly to my experiences.

Constant wondering

This book was slower to start leaving me wondering how it was a mystery thriller sort of novel. As the chapters progressed I was pulled into the story of the girls Amy, piper, Margot, rose, and sylvia. Captivating twist in the plot and a great ending. Anyone looking for a easy read to hold your attention should try this book!!

Decent book, a real who dun it with a supernatural twist that goes between three different times. The author did a great job juggling the three different time plots. We don't know the actual out come until very very near the end of the book, which is exactly the way it should be.

She's done it again ladies and gents! God I love all Jennifer's books so much. They are an amazing mix of paranormal realism and even when I figure out some of the mystery I never figure it all out. So frigging goooooooooood!!!!!

Having read Jennifer's other book 'The Winter People' and really enjoying it, I didn't hesitate to buy this book the second I saw it. 'The Night Sister' is a creepy book about monsters and family secrets that takes place during three different time periods.

Though I did guess a lot of what was going to happen, I didn't find the secrets to be glaringly obvious and I found it hard to put the book down because I wanted to know so badly if I was right. This book is defiantly worth reading if you like mystery, suspense and a little bit of creepy.

I enjoyed this quite a bit. There were several parts that left me questioning whether maybe just everyone was crazy, which I really appreciated. I like when a book makes me feel like maybe nothing is actually what you think it is. The coinciding timelines added really interesting layers to the story, too.

Not my favorite Jennifer McMahon book, but still a solid 3.5-4 star read. It just felt like there was a bit too much going on with the plot at times. I also wasn’t as fascinated by the older plot line as I usually am with her books. I feel like this year’s release - The Children on the Hill, which I LOVED - had its genesis with The Night Sister. The themes of monstrosity and the harm we can do to the ones we love most appear in both books. Overall I liked this book but it wouldn’t be the first McMahon I recommend to people.
