DNF.
Couldn't ssstand the sssex ssscenesss and didn't like charactersss.
I mean, that'sss kind of crucial when it comessss to erotica, right?
Sssso, MNY.
Nice length, the polyamory was nice surprise. I am a RH fan. It was good but the FMC was a live dichotomy. She sometimes sounded very emotionally mature, and others she acted selfishly and childishly. I didn't get it and it frustrated me quite a bit. Also, besides Venomous One, the other two males didn't get much attention, or thoughts, from her. She liked them and then she didn't want them in her clan and then they had sex, but it felt like they didn't receive the emotional attention they deserved it needed.
oddly compelling
I really like that this a real alien story. Aliens are humanoid but not really.
Sometimes Lumen was annoying and self absorbed. Super careless sometimes. For Lumen to throw that in Venomous face because if that’s the case she shouldn’t be with him. Fiercely was over protective but he was right. Lumen just ugh, cry me a river. She wants it both ways.
I felt like the author forced the third relationship with Cobra. 30% of the book was Lumen saying how much she didn’t want the relationship with him.
I would think that everything Lumen said happened to her in the beginning would leave scars.
The whole first and third person was an adjustment in the beginning.

I'm giving this book 4 stars mostly for the first part of the book. I liked Lumen's character at the beginning showing her resilience and willingness to listen to Venom when it counted. Unfortunately, as the rest of the book progressed I kind of liked her less and less. She became really whiny and literally throwing temper tantrums like a toddler because she doesn't get her way. The only reason why her men don't leave her is probably that their physiology and sense of honor literally won't let them. And after reading reviews of the next book I think that heroine might frustrate me even more.
Ok this is the part where all I can say is wow.
If you want aggressive and dominant yet sweet alien males than this is your book. And yes I did say males, as in plural, as in ménage a trois. The action that goes down in this book is the bomb. You think you know what's going to happen but then the writer leaves you on a total twist and your minds just wondering what the fuck just happened.
Let me start by saying that the MC, Lumen, is totally awesome in her own ways. You can relate to the times that she freaks out yet at the same time when times are tough she can keep a cool head like its nobodies business.
And the Alien. Venomous One might be part snake, have scales, a forked tongue and not be the best at sex during their first time but boy does he learn.
'She is mine to protect, mine to shelter, mine to feed and mine to cover. When she is weak, I shall be her strength'
*sigh* I mean who doesn't want a man saying that about them.
The other males in the book are great to and though they each have much to learn throughout this book they get there at the end. Penelope Fletcher really brings you through a journey with her characters that will leave you laughing, screaming, crying and panting with soaked panties.

Interesting world building, some genuinely funny moments and lots of drama. There were some slow parts but overall an engaging read.
Great story spanning many worlds and different obstacles. Three love interests/lifemates in all. Each with their own personality.
Dnf like halfway through? For a book that has so many warnings this shit is BORING AF.
Do not read if r*pe triggers you at all, this book is very dark and gritty not for the light hearted. It was too dark for me to keep reading, even though it did get a little better as the book went on but the start of the book was too much for me personally. I might finish the book later but for now DNF at 51%
