petty petty juvenile drama, slop upon slop, contrived drama between characters, aiya. but can one blame a gnome for being short? a tree for standing tall? I knew exactly what i was getting myself into and i read it to the end. Everybody's so creative....

This book is like a dog chasing its tail, getting confused, and starting all over again. </3 The majority of this book is incomprehensibly irrelevant details and pandering instead of representation. But I did read the whole thing

A sweet non-rom-com that touched me with the friendship that forms and subsequent
declaration of love
. (I'll admit I teared up.) A little too heavy on topical references, Wellesley references (this is obviously a love letter to Wellesley), and academic discussions of queerness and intersectionality, but an incredibly valuable read that I think is a fine contribution to the YA ace/aro canon (such as it is). Highly recommend to anyone figuring out their identity, especially younger people who think they may be ace and/or aro.

Dear Wendy was my most anticipated read for 2024 and it did not disappoint.

I loved the silly petty instagram feud. I loved watching the friendship bloom between Sophie and Jo. I loved the discussions about queerness and society.

Also I can’t believe Conan Gray’s song People Watching wasn’t mentioned?? So aro/ace coded to me!

An aroace person asking another aroace if they’re about to kiss is peak comedy LOL

“Like, my person, my closest confidant, will probably always have someone else—a romantic partner—that they're closer to."
So RELATABLE!!! It really does make you feel inadequate because you can make all the platonic gestures in the world but you’ll never be what they’re looking for in the end :/

Both of these characters are in college, but are having an online feud that a middle schooler would have. It's embarrassing.
