it started off so good and then he messed up by trying to coerce her into bedding him everytime they were together.

This was really cute! Pretty sexy too, a fair number of spicy scenes to be had, but I felt the “negotiation” around those scenes may have detracted from the chemistry between the two, and also sort of ventured merrily towards red-flag territory (without actually crossing over fully). However, this book had one of the more clever setups I’ve read in a romance.

I liked Maddie and Logan and the supporting cast. I also liked how they both had drives and ambition outside of love.
Loses some point for the oddly fetishising language used to describe Logan's Scottishness and the way it occasionally used his transliterated accent even in his internal narration.

Light hearted historical romance that will hit you in your feels. Perfect if you’re in a reading slump or just need something different.
Not as fun as some of the other Tessa Dare novels I've read in this series, but the two characters were cute together. I enjoyed their banter. One thing I will say is that I liked the exploration of social anxiety in this book. It gave it a bit of a different twist to her personality. I also love that Dare always gives her heroine personality as far as their career choices.
