Still entertaining, but not quite as fun as some of the previous novels in the series. Sets up interest in the next installment though.
"… there are too many Uhtreds on this boat already." I think they meant to say there are too many Uhtreds in this book.
Brilliant! I'm a fan of Cornwell's writing style, particularly this series. This was the best in the series so far. Probably only room for one more book before the main character finally succumbs to old age. 5 stars out of 5!
Freaking love Uhtred. This one had one seriously on edge the last few chapters.

I both love and loathe that Bernard put important events off page because I’m sad. Another good one enjoyed the different ending
I started out thinking this was not to be as good as the first six. The drama between Uhtred and his first-born son seemed too overdramatic and forced, off-kilter to Uhtred's character. I questioned if it was merely a set-up to force the story, and I was right. But the ensuing story was great so all is forgiven!
