I would recommend listening to this, so good! And eye-opening on what it means to be a part of a cult. I seriously wonder where David’s wife is.
I absolutely love Leah Remini and had no idea how crazy scientology is! It's truly fascinating that people can become part of a cult without even knowing it. I enjoyed hearing about Leah's life in NY and then the drastic change to "church" (it's definitely not a church) life. Even though this wasn't a lengthy memior, it was super detailed. At times, it felt like too much, but many kuddos to Leah for having the strength to leave and sharing her story.
I never watched Leah Remini on King of Queens, and I can find her annoying and abrasive, yet I have these odd feelings of simpatico for her.
Remini is one strong cookie; what she's been through In her life and with Scientology would break most of us, yet she emerged strong and with her family intact. How can you not admire her for that?

Such a fascinating look into the cult as an average citizen and then as a celebrity as well. There is some pretty scary stuff going on there. I look at Leah differently after reading this profound book - she is a very strong, defiant, caring and sweet person who just wants to do the right thing. I will continue to follow Leah and her journey to share the truth about Scientology.
I can't get enough of these scientology memoirs. These stories are so appalling, and Leah's was especially exciting because she fought back so hard.

The juiciness of the Tom Cruise reveals makes this worth it for that alone.
I never knew much about Remini besides that she was an actress and had been a scientologist. I found this an interesting read and a good insight into how someone could become enamored with scientology and stay in it for so long.
