4.5 stars. I’ll read anything about Scientology, but tbh I wanted more out of this

The book as a whole is two stars...but those gossipy chapters about Tom Cruise-5 stars.

I absolutely love Leah, so there was no question about reading this book. She really opened up her whole life in this book and pretty much points out how much control Tom Cruise has in the church. Loved the book! If you have the chance to listen to the audio book- I would recommend!!! She reads it and makes side comments.

Such a fun & honest read with a great glimpse of what it’s like inside the cult that is Scientology. Remini is so hilarious & incredibly honest.

I went into this after having read another memoir about leaving scientology. In this book the member was part of Sea-Org, so it was interesting to see the other side of it.

Leah describes her experience in a no nonsense kind of way and I like her speaking up about the injustice she saw in Scientology and not backing down, even tough it resulted in her leaving. I'm glad she had this amazing support system.

I didn't care much about the Hollywood industry or celebrities. I've not watched King of Queens and I'm generally not interested in celebriety gossip. But it was interesting to read about the friends she made.

I read a lot of memoirs and Scientology is one of those weird culty things that fascinates me, so I was glad to see this audiobook for digital loan at the library. I never really watched King of Queens and know the author primarily as Stacy Carosi from Saved by the Bell. Omg you guys, she got to make out with Mark-Paul Gosselaar. My preteen self is still super jealous. ANYWAY. As someone who grew up very faithfully and devoutly Catholic and also decided to split from the church (not in NEARLY as public and traumatic a way), I relate to some aspect of this. It was well written and I always enjoy hearing memoirs read by their author, especially if the author is a performer and knows how to deliver a line. Recommended.

This book really surprised me. Leah is not only funny, but also brave and inspiring.
