I feel like anyone who still thinks Scientology is just another religion should read this. If you think it's harmless, you should read it. And, if you think it's the power behind Hollywood, you should read it. I learned a lot from this book.

This was the first book I've read from start to finish in a long time. I tend to get distracted and not finish books quite a bit, but this book held my interest.

I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because there were a few times where a story was started and never really finished, but it was never anything that interfered with the overall story. The main one I remember was the chapter that started with her talking about Saved by the Bell, but I felt like the chapter went off in a different direction and never circled back to resolve why she started talking about the show. Maybe I just missed something, but I felt like that happened a couple other times as well.

Aside from that, it was fascinating to read. I became interested in her story after listening to Oh No Ross and Carrie's investigation into Scientology. Kudos to her for using her platform to share what goes on. It's heartbreaking to think of the lives that have been ruined or severely negatively impacted by this group.

Decent read. I liked getting Leah's perspective on Scientology. I read Jenna's book and both books confirm many things about cult mentality teachings, manipulations, group think/speak, and tactics in general on to people who are seeking something to be a part who generally disaffected and disenchanted by their current community.

I did not have many expectations going into this one. Boy, I was surprised at how entranced I became with her story. I very much became invested in Leah's story, and am glad she took the time to share. She is a strong person!

I wanted to like this book and maybe if I'd read instead of listened to it. Hours and hours of listening to gossip and dirt on Hollywood. It was not enjoyable. There's really nothing new here about Scientology. The parts where Remini reminisced about time on the set for King of Queens was great and I wish she'd focused more on that.

This was a good memoir; very intriguing. It was equally about Scientology and making it in show business (as per the title. duh). She went through the twilight zone with what that organization put her through and I have such respect for how she handled it. Also, Tom Cruise is a psycho. As though we didn't already know that.

great read!

This was an easy read with a close-up look into Scientology. I didn't realize how young Leah was when her family joined and how high up in the ranks she reached. I couldn't put it down.

Eye-opening, to say the least. The very fact that there has not been an open investigation about the accusations toward this church by anyone who is undaunted by their sway, tells you how much power and money this cult has. And where is Shelly?
