I enjoyed this book. I love to read about these little "subcultures" in society. Although I've never been a tremendous fan of Leah Remini (I don't dislike her, just really never watched King of Queens much), her story was very interesting. It was intriguing to hear how she grew up from childhood in this religion/cult. It's amazing to discover how dedicated she really was to her faith and to realize just how difficult it was to rid her mind of that way of thinking when she finally left. It was an easy and enjoyable read.

A really refreshing look into the celebrity side of Scientology. Comparing this book to Jenna Hill's, it's amazing to look at the different communities within the cult. Leah is a funny storyteller, and has just enough Hollywood sprinkled in there to make the book entertaining. I love this broad.

I'm a sucker for an inside look at something that is interesting to me. High up on that list: Scientology. This book didn't tell me a ton that I didn't already know, but getting the insight of a celebrity Scientologist was interesting. It seemed like the church would have done more to keep her happy. Reading all about her view of the missing persons report and some of the stuff with Tom Cruise was really interesting.

The writing wasn't great, but not sure what else to expect.

WOW. This was the first book I'd read about Scientology and Leah Remini's experience in it is so interesting. She walks you through her initial exposure to Scientology in such a way that you could see how someone would get sucked in. It's crazy to see how much she gives to the Church and how quickly Church leaders shut her out when she starts asking too many questions.

Now off to fall down a reddit rabbit hole about Shelly Miscavige.

This was fascinating! I listened to the audio book - of course. It was a short listen (I usually up my speed to 1.3), and I finished it in one day. Leah Remini is hilarious and genuine. I want to watch the docu-series now.
