As someone who lost their dad 6 months ago, this hit way too close to home.

Just like Alice:

1. I am a 39yo single woman with no kids who lives alone.
2. Feeling like I missed the marriage and kids train and now I’m on the other end where I can enjoy freedom.
3. Super close to my dad my entire life.
4. Prematurely grieved him for years while he was battling an illness with no idea of when it may end.
5. My dad also never remarried after my parents divorce which made it lonely while dealing with his illness and visiting him in the hospital.
6. Talked to my dad multiple times everyday.
7. Made fun of my dad’s love for grape nuts and spent countless hours watching jeopardy with him.

Not a fan of time travel, but if I do read it or watch it, it has to be like this, more magical realism than science fiction, more 13 going on 30 than Back to the future. Alice is 40 when she wakes up on her 16th birthday. She gets a chance to relive the day and see how her life could change. A sweet story about love and relationships and making the most of your life. (My fave narrator too!)
