my favorite picture in the series so far is in this book and it's fukuda's soft face when he thanks his editor ^-^

I thought the conflict between Akito and Moritaka felt very contrived, and I was happy when that story thread ended. Eiji finally shows a weakness in his manga creation, and Hiramuru, surprisingly, discovers romance. All of the manga-ka need to get out more, because they are all sadly lacking in real life experiences of any kind.

This series is getting better and better ... I really enjoyed Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata's work ... the ending of this volume made me want to really look forward to the next one ... I am trying not to read the weekly comic so I can enjoy reading this in one go ...

Absolutely loved the side story with Hiramaru. His character has been one mostly for laughs, and generally thin, but in this issue his character really shined.

Ugh Shujin is the worst in this volume! I am however on board with Mashiro getting over the whole waiting for an anime and just get together with Azuki already!

I will review this series as a whole because like i mentioned, I lost track of the volumes. I'm currently in volume 16, according to wiki... so yeah, 4 stars. There are a few parts that I don't really agree with characters when they kind of ignore the female's perspective, I know this is a shounen manga, but I think women are not being respected enough, for example, Kaya-chan, Takagi's wife, she is so dedicated in helping them but yet, sometimes I think Takagi and Mashiro dissed her too much.

What a great series. I continue to find inspiration, love the nods to all the series that have come before, the continued development of the characters and really pretty much everything about this series.

Obha and Obata really make a great team. Like Mashiro and Takagi they seem to be able to cover just about any genre, with a spin that makes it unique and gives it that Ohabata (!) edge. I just wish that some of the invented series that they showcase in these books were real. I'm sure I'd love Otter No. 11, and PCP.

I'm just sad now that I'll have to wait for a while before reading Volume 14. After re-reading the entire series up to 13 I really got fired up about it again. It took me days to read vol. 12 savoring it and doling it out in doses...I read vol. 13 in just two sittings because I just couldn't get myself to put it down.

Can't wait to see if Muto Ashirogi will get another series or what!
