This was just an engaging and interesting read. I’m not someone who is heavily into politics, but find the behind the scenes fascinating. Ardern’s insights into some of NZD and the world’s biggest events made it so I didn’t want to put this down.

Unsurprisingly she faced the added hurdles of being questioned in her leadership and ability to do the job well, so let due to her gender.

“Is it ok for the Prime Minister to take maternity leave while in office?”

Arderns personal life and quiet struggles with infertility & motherhood felt raw and all the more challenging as she tackled these under heavy scripting and in the public spotlight.

“I had a joined an unspoken community united by a single desire to have kids…it was both comforting and heartbreaking to realise how large this community was”

Didn’t realise Arden was raised in the Mormon church. The memoir goes on to document her struggles to align her faith and her political beliefs.

Always find the behind the scenes of the ‘Firm’ interesting and would also be amazed to set foot in Buckingham Palace or to be amoungst all the world leaders.

“There were 53 leaders at the meeting, only 3 of us were women. Clarke was having the inverse experience…”

“We reformed our gun laws in ten days”
