Wow...that plot twist had my jaw dropped, the realization of why this was all happening was so shocking. Best plot twist I've read in awhile!!! Highly recommend. This has gotta be my favorite Ellen Hopkins book so far. (This is my fourth one I've read by her).

I originally thought I read this book when I was a teenager, but read the summary and realized, "Hell no I didn't." So I picked it up at the library and dove right in.

This is probably my favorite of Hopkins books that I have read. I loved reading her books when I was younger, but this book is more my jam when it comes to the plot over Crank, etc. I actually liked the twist that happened, and didn't expect it despite now thinking back, it was at least somewhat obvious. It was also fun to recognize the town names that were mentioned, as they aren't well-known towns for non-Californians.

Also the parents (but especially the dad) should rot in hell.

This story is very very disturbing... but it was also like a car accident you can’t look away from.

After a family tragedy, twin Kayleigh and Raeanne deal with their pain in very different ways. Father is a judge and their mother is a politician, that is never around, so no one would ever suspect such horrible things happening behind closed doors. Kayleigh is the victim of inappropriate life from her father, while Raeanne is craving attention from her fathers. To deal, Kayleigh binge eats due to her eating disorder (to please her father) and also cuts to feel. Raeanne, longing to attention, find it in drugs and sex. They are both affected by their parents attention and lack of attention.

I loved the narration of this book. She really brought the characters to life, making you feel like they were just talking to you and telling you their sides of the story.

The ending was amazing and it definitely was unexpected but made so much sense. Loved it and hated it all at the same time !
