This book started off with a bang...literally.
Sutton is a travel nurse who has just moved to Starlight Cove with her moody teenage daughter. You can imagine her surprise when she finds out that her landlord is the former pro football player she had a one-night stand with. Where she's sunshine, he's a total grump. When her stalker ex shows up, Atlas kisses her in the middle of his family's bar, and they enter into a fake dating situation. When the cottage she's staying in floods, they have no choice but to stay with Atlas. The next thing they know, their dating is anything but fake.
Atlas is a former pro football player and high school football coach. He thrives with organization and order. When Sutton comes into his life, she's a hurricane of chaos. She helped him nurse a kitten that had been left in the rain, and he ended up a cat dad. He didn't bat an eye when Sutton's daughter started calling him Daddy Grump. Guys won't leave Lo alone? She gives them Atlas's number, and he lets them know what happens when you mess with someone he cares about. Lo gets her period at school and needs supplies- No problem. I loved Atlas's character development. He was so caught up in trying to be everything to everyone that he almost got in his own way. The end of this book definitely had me crying happy tears.

I thought Lolo was the best character - I loved her sneaky teenage sass and the way she interacted with Atlas.

This was my first Brighton story, but it certainly won't be my last, this was so much fun. I absolutely adored these two and could not get enough. I've been reading a lot of grumpy sunshine lately, but "Daddy Grump" may take the cake. This man constantly has a scowl on his face, but my goodness did he show up for the one's he loved. Atlas stole my whole heart.
Sutton was amazing too, as was Lo. I really adored all of the characters in this story to be honest. The crazy grandma selling vibe toys about unalived me and Atlas' entire family was amazing too.
The spice was spicy. Atlas is a pleasure god and he had our bratty Sutton on her knees literally and figuratively and often. She gave as good as she got though and I loved it.
The audio was perfect. Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke were so amazing in this DUET narration. I absolutely loved this listen.
