Cover:
Awful.
Editing/proofing:
Could be worse, but I wouldn’t call it ‘good’.
Character development:
Literally none. Very noticeably lacking any depth or personality.
This popped up on my kindle and I figured ‘why not’. If you’re looking for a quick, down & dirty porn in book form, this is likely for you. If you’re looking for a book with an actual plot and substance, it may not be.
Starts out with the same old, done-to-death, tired scenario. A woman is bathing in self pity having just signed divoce papers, freeing herself from a man who dragged her reputation through the mud and very publicly cheated on her after she’d stuck by him and put her own aspirations on hold to do so.
Cut to her wanting to start over, or seeking a break from the norm, etc. and then add in a hot loner … the lack of originality is a bit draining. Even though I knew every little step that was clearly about to play out from page one, I tried to read it with an open mind. Sadly, I was not wrong.
It’s fast burn, there’s no shortage of sex, voyeurism, self-pleasuring, etc., though the scenes are very typical. There’s no personality, no fire here. I felt I’d read all of these exact scenes a hundred times.
I get that not much is original but … this was pointedly unoriginal. It seems the authors figured they’d capitalize on the people who just want something quick to inspire them with their B.O.B. —which I am not knocking at all—I just can’t say there’s any actual art here to appreciate.
That said, this may or may not be for you.
For me it was 2 stars at best.

Ever read a booked that everybody loved but you can’t love it even you really tried? Well that was this book for me.
When I started reading it I could already tell that I was not going to like this too much. I know this is an erotic romance but damn, it was nowhere near realistic. If you don’t mind that then you should be fine. Maybe I shouldn’t be too hard on it, I think I am just because it was so hyped up and I kept seeing advertising for it on Facebook. I just went in with bigger expectations than I should.
Now I’m not saying it’s not a good book. It was a quick sexy read.
I like the characters okay. I want a Luke Dawson! He was rugged, self-sufficient, and willing to please. (In and out of the bedroom) Madison was an okay character. She wasn’t as stuck up of a city girl as I expected her to be(which is good). They met under unrealistic circumstances,But they did have great chemistry together.
The only things that really bugged me were too much sex, hell at one point it’s all they were doing. Also the back and forth about where they were going to live was a little exhausting.
Overall, it was a quick read and it was pretty steamy too.

masturbating outside on a damn rock?! & having sex the next day… okay no.The only things that really bugged me were too much sex, hell at one point it’s all they were doing. Also the back and forth about where they were going to live was a little exhausting.

I liked a different book in this series so thought this one would be fun, but I never got into it. The characters are barely developed, there's a short, unsatisfying sex scene every 5 pages, the tension is ridiculous (a fight with a waitress while they're at a diner? a coyote attack?), and the characters say "I love you" after knowing each other for 2 days. Not recommended.
Not very good, despite the super high ratings. too much happened between the MCs too fast, and too much sex. After reading such well crafted romances the last few days, I don't have patience for erotica disguised as a romance novel.
This was a pretty good read. It was a quick and easy read. I'm still not sure why it's book 2 in the series since I can't find a book 1.
The main characters are Maddison and Luke. Maddison is a city girl with a career who is going through a recent divorce and goes to a yoga lodge in the country to get away from it all. Maddison runs into a mountain man and she falls head over heels in love with him over a period of time but he has issues of his own. Luke has moved out to the country since his PTSD was affecting him too much to be around lots of people and he prefers to be alone except from when he's with Maddison.
There are very few secondary characters and none of them were particularly noteworthy.
The storyline isn't the most original but it is a very easy read. The pacing is good but nothing particularly great. It's the characters that really carry this book.

I loved Luke so much. Madison was just what he needed, and she needed him just as much. Together they were one smoking hot couple with a lot of heart thrown in!

Misadventures of a City Girl was amazing right out of the gates. I couldn’t and didn’t want to put this book down! I was 100% drawn in from the very first page. Meredith and Chelle I have to say did an AMAZING job on this story. The casting… OMG you couldn’t have found 2 better people who fit Madison and Luke look wise better than Brock and Marilou.

Madison Atwood is fresh off a divorce from a major Hollywood actor and looking to escape all of the hollywood drama to recover. So she runs to Avalon Springs Retreat in the California mountains to try to deal with things and heal. On her first night at Avalon Madison goes on a little exploring hike trip and stumbles across the hot springs. While resting on the rocks she has her first encounter with Luke Dawson.
Luke Dawson is ex-military who has tried to adjust to civilian life but just couldn’t. So to remove himself from all of the noise and people he has retreat and is living in his family’s cabin in the mountains. By living I mean he is living with no running water, living off the land and very little human interaction. Totally off the grid. That is until he sees Madison sun bathing.
The chemistry between Madison and Luke is off the charts explosive right off the bat. These are two characters who are in need of healing but can they help heal each other? Will Luke be able to help Madison find her old self? Can Madison help Luke get back to the old Luke he was before he went off to war?
Misadventures of a City Girl is a total MUST read! Go and pre-order this book NOW you can thank me later! :-)

Misadventures of a City Girl was co-authored by Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss and is book 1 of the Misadventures Series.
Madison Atwood is newly divorced from a Hollywood hotshot and she seeks refuge from the paparazzi. Luke Dawson lives off the grid and chooses to live a life of solitude. Luke sees her while she is soaking in the hot springs. Madison discovers his secluded cabin. Needless, to say they discover each other too. It is a whirlwind romance with some pretty hot and sexy scenes.
I enjoyed Misadventures of a City Girl. This book did end with an HEA and I am anxious to read book 2.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I give Misadventures of a City Girl 4 stars.
