A Let-down!
Soap Opera-ish, bland characters, heavy on exposition, lacking in dialogue coupled with a slow-moving, predictable plot did not make this a great story. Much of the novel was page after page, chapter after chapter, of the main character telling us what had happened to her, what was happening, etc – with little dialogue. Even the flashbacks were told in this weird style, making it a bore to read, as well as hard to relate to the characters since you weren’t experiencing what they were as it happened. The plot focused too much on Toni’s time in prison (making it more drama than suspense), and not enough on the mystery. I slogged my way through this one expecting it to have a killer twist at the end. It didn’t! The murderer was obvious, as was the motive. I’d even go as far to say that the back of the book included the entire plot – there really wasn’t much more to this one than that.
Skip this one. ‘Never Let You Go’ by Chevy Stevens is miles better. I gave that one 5-stars. ‘That Night’ didn’t even seem like it was written by the same author.

Very gripping, exciting read. Appreciated the small twist at the end but felt the 'big bad' was pretty predictable.
***I received an ARC of this book from a Goodreads Giveaway. The only compensation I received was the inherent enjoyment of reading a good book!***
Fast paced and engaging...a true page turner! A thriller that delivers! As with most mystery/thrillers, I find myself suspecting everyone and by the end of the book, I generally have it figured out. This was true for this book as well. Some of the storylines did surprise me (which is awesome...who doesn't like being surprised!). If you are looking for a great, fast paced summer read...check this one out!
