I really enjoyed this book. Another female narrator past murder trying to find out what really happened. But there was more about the characters and their lives less of a thriller, which was a nice change.

I really wanted to love this book, because I've loved Chevy Stevens's other books.. And I finished it in one day, so it's not that it was terrible. It was a good story, the sheriff was an unexpected twist.
But it was almost like reading a book as a procedural. I know that sounds weird but I felt no emotional connection to any ofthe characters.
I found Toni completely unsympathetic, I never really felt sorry for her or invested in her clearing her name. Part of it was the setup to the murder. You leave your sister in a truck in the woods alone at night so you can have sex with your boyfriend, then you let yourself fall asleep after he's fallen asleep? Made absolutely no sense. Why would you take your sister along if all you were planning was a quickie? Gross.
So I kind of got where the mother was coming from at the end, feeling as if it still was partially Toni's fault. Although we never bonded with the mom either to understand her relationship with her daughters.
Long story short, it was good, but not great.

This was a good read, I found the characters very likable and compelling. I know how hard it is to forgive someone but urgh, Toni's parents got me. I really liked Toni for trying to turn her life around, her flaws visible.
I love Chevy Stevens!
This book didn’t disappoint.
That Night is about Toni a rebellious high school girl who seems always disappoint her mother. Her younger sister Nicole can do no wrong.
Toni and Ryan (her boyfriend) are convicted of Nicole’s murder and spend 15 years in jail.
Toni tries to get use to life outside of prison while dealing with what really happened “that night” her sister was murdered.
Definitely heavy but well worth the read.

Chevy Stevens is an amazing author! With this story line I figured out who'd done what kind of closer to the beginning of the book but then I'd second guess myself here and there. Overall it was a really good book but I do wish the ending had told more about Ryan and Toni. And Toni's mom, grr to her. That is all.
