i have never read a 'thriller' before, but in my opinion this was not thrilling. it was more of a fast-paced drama. anyway, the plot was decent and it was a quick read. i was disappointed with the end, though. seemed like the author wrote the last chapter in a rush. left me with a bad taste.

A very fun and engaging story with exciting, albeit, somewhat flat characters. Brad Thor is a great story teller and the book was very tight from beginning to end. Very enjoyable

this was an ok thriller. It was very predictable. Its characters or should i say caricatures, were very one dimensional, obviously female characters written by a male with a male perspective. Think Charlie's Angels.

Well, it's clear that Brad Thor can't write dialogue for female characters, especially dialogue among women of the purported genius and talent of the Athena group. The camaraderie of these characters read as forced, unnatural, and went on each time for far too long.

You know, women aren't all that different from men when undergoing stressful conditions; and when exhausted from a job's sustained adrenaline high, they're more likely to fall silent than engage in a gabfest.

The only reason I bumped my rating up to 2 stars was because there were some parts of the story that were moderately interesting. Overall, very poor writing. I felt like I was reading an adult book that was written by a high school student. Brad Thor does too much "telling" in his writing and not enough "showing." Also, he goes into extreme detail to explain all about the guns and equipment that the team is using. To me, it detracted from the action to have to trudge through a bunch of boring unnecessary details about what type of gun each character was using. The one saving grace of this book was the reader. I listened to the book on tape, and the reader was quite good.

I thought I borrowed a Scot Harvath book so I was surprised to hear a female narrator. Double check and it was listed as book 10. Deceiving? Yes!!

I'm giving this a 2,5 stars. The action was there but to be honest I'm lost what the plot was. I don't remember the any of the four names. All I could remember was how hot the Delta ladies were and they had nice racks.

I normally love these books, and the idea of an all-female anti-terror squad fascinates me and makes a lot of sense. My mind wandered a lot through this, and I never could fully relate to these characters. None of the technology is science fiction; we've now learned to teleport things, so there's nothing all that far fetched about this. I just didn't relate well to the characters and my mind wandered a lot. Chalk it up to acedia? No way am I giving up on this author; my reaction to the book wasn't his fault. He is immensely talented, and I can't wait to revisit either the Athena universe or the Harvath one.
