This is a fun book. I love the way other avengers characters were pulled in. Really great way to introduce a younger reader to marvel characters, although some of the jokes/references might go over their heads if unfamiliar with the marvel universe.

I never understand the popularity of Squirrel Girl until now. The Hales made SG more than a quirky, running gag. In their care, she’s fully fleshed out, very human, and tons of fun.

I couldn't sleep and this reads really fast.
The Hales captured Squirrel Girl's voice from the comics perfectly. It is unbelievably funny with great heart. The text exchange chapters were EXACTLY RIGHT (there's one with Black Widow, one with Stark, and even Rocket Racoon...). Easter Eggs abound for Marvel fans. Go nuts!
PS: even though this is aimed at the MG/YA crowd, the book does not condescend or talk down to a younger audience and grown up fans of SG should read this, too!

This was very cute and fun - unmistakably for younger readers, but that’s not a bad thing.

Squirrel Meets World: Squirrel Girl + the Hales. OMG. It was written just for me. I mean, it's really meant for an upper elementary kinda person but that didn't bother me one bit. Clever and fun, and very similar in tone to the recent comics -- as a matter of fact, I kept picturing the action as if Erica Henderson were drawing it. Just THE BEST.

Sorry Squirrel Girl, I was excited when I thought you were a graphic novel penned by Shannon Hale, but then you were a chapter book and I renewed you twice and started to read you, but in the end actually just put holds on the comics and went back to my queue.
