It's rather difficult to review this wonderful book without giving away too much. This is the first Agatha Christie book I've read and I don't think it will be the last. Ingenious , complicated plots, intriguing characters with so much to hide, and the added bonus of playing the game with yourself 'guess who did it'. I was bambozzled until the very last chapter. Thought I'd got it but was led astray by a red herring. You imagine too, that the style might be that of a 'cozy mystery' but there is darkness lurking underneath, including the shocking suggestion made by Hercule Poirot to the guilty party of how things should be put right. Which one to read next?

My first Agatha Christie novel, and it did not disappoint! I’ve watched several of the Hercule Poirot movies and it made me want to actually read one of the novels. I will definitely be checking out more!

only complaint was the lack of action. Mostly a dialogue driven book.

Agatha Christie always keeps you guessing until the end! This was a fun one with a steady trickling of clues and a constant speculation of what’s going on in those little grey cells of Hercule Poirot. I highly recommend for any mystery fans.
