This book is giving “smut written on Wattpad with a sprinkling of plot circa 2014”. I really liked it, I have a weakness for anything resembling Greek Mythology. I really wish there was more focus on the relationship development between Hades and Persephone, the whole big bad wolf and the innocent princess trope.
Overall, I liked it. It was a quick and fun read.

This is the first book I've ever DNF'd. I've finished bad books before, but just couldn't do it with this one. It was so confusing that some people are inheriting titles and some are getting elected but then just so happen to have children named after the Greek goddess that would follow the lineage. Is there magic? Is there not magic? I'm all for retelling a myth or story, but don't just change key aspects like the fact that she doesn't hate him! It was so confusing to follow.

The main plot is definitely the spice, so if you’re not into ~human connection~ then you won’t enjoy it. The end was very anticlimactic. I would have liked to see more character development for some of the side characters.

Ok, so I have no legit creditably of reading a lot of spicy dark romance, I’m practically dipping my toe in it and I just kinda winged it. I liked this book, liked the spice, like its modernization version of Hades and Persephone. Now did it seemed like it was 60% spice and 40% plot, yes that’s a given. Would I reread this? Eh, I don’t think so. Did I like the relationship that bloomed between them? Yes absolutely.
My first 5 star read of 2022 and what a ride it was! This is next level from her Wicked Villains series. The sexual tension is so amazing and I love these characters so much. Hades is the purest cinnamon roll. I cannot wait for Electric Idol!
The plot of the story was definitely secondary to the romance between Persephone and Hades. It's in line with the mafia romance plots in her Wicked Villains. The main story is these two. The story with Zeus and the territory war definitely wrapped up super quick and was kind of convenient. But you're not reading this book for the political drama. You're reading it for the smut. And Katee Robert delivered us spice in abundance.
