Awww, I'm glad I waited a few days to read this one. While it certainly fits in the Carsington Brothers world it could very much be a standalone. We met Lisle and Olivia in Lord Perfect when they went on an adventure to find treasure. After the events of that book Lisle heads to his beloved Egypt to learn all about tombs and mummies and Olivia grows into one of the most beautiful women of the Ton. Then Lisle comes back and his parents work on making him stay so Olivia comes up with a Plan and we have them on another adventure. This time to Scotland.
Olivia is an absolute menace but it's very hard not to love her, Lisle was far too slow figuring that out. I could understand him trying to avoid drama, his parents were very dramatic, but their drama was more about destruction, Olivia was super efficient and runs rings around everyone as soon as she meets them.
This was just really good fun, what an adventure! I'd love a long epilogue with an update for each couple in the series. I'm really enjoying Loretta Chase but she unfortunately doesn't deliver on my beloved EPIC-logue.

Yo, I am hERE for the childhood-friends-to-lovers! AW YEE. After [b: Lord Perfect|132598|Lord Perfect (Carsington Brothers, #3)|Loretta Chase|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1386923997s/132598.jpg|127727] I was like, "There better be a book about Lisle and Olivia because YES!" And there is!!! I was so excited to read this and I loved it! It was fun, despite the annoying "I can't marry you because dumb reasons" plot.

They didn't interest me as kids in Lord Perfect, and they weren't compelling as grownups here. I kept trying to pinpoint why, but I couldn't figure it out. I was just bored.

Aw, yay Olivia and Lisle, growing up and seeing each other in new ways! These two were such fun as preteens in Lord Perfect and their book was such a treat to read. I wish there was an epilogue, especially since it’s the last book in the series! And I wish Lisle and Rathbourne had an on page conversation/interaction, especially in the end scenes, as his former guardian. Otherwise, such a fun road trip, friends to lovers romance!
