Cute best friends to lovers except i didnt enjoy it that much and i feel so sad
I’d say more but alas this is a Harper Collins book and I’m withholding reviews until they get their heads out of their asses and come to the table with their union.
Very memorable. I loved the “haunted” Scottish castle plot line. That was lots of fun
Loretta Chase is one of the queens of well-written regency romance. This is the story of Olivia and Lisle, who were introduced in Mr. Perfect (another excellent, laugh out loud romance), 10 years later. The story moves along quickly, the dialogue between characters is smart and witty. When Olivia and Lisle finally make love, it ranks right up there as one of the most romantic love scenes I've read; both tender and passionate. This book will join the ranks of [b:Mr. Impossible|132606|Mr. Impossible (Carsington Brothers, #2)|Loretta Chase|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1172012123s/132606.jpg|127735], [b:Lord Perfect|132598|Lord Perfect (Carsington Brothers, #3)|Loretta Chase|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1172012122s/132598.jpg|127727], and [b:The Lion's Daughter|132601|The Lion's Daughter (Scoundrels, #1)|Loretta Chase|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1172012122s/132601.jpg|127730] as one of my favorite Loretta Chase novels.
Not my favorite book in the series, but a pretty fun read.

Like the other books in this series, this was quite a fun book. Some parts of it were really funny, and again, Loretta Chase’s turn of phrase is really nice. It was nice to see the characters of Olivia and Peregrine as adults, and how their relationship changes as adults. They had good chemistry and their sex scenes, when they happen, were well-written.
I particularly liked Olivia’s character, I liked that she was just as mischievous as she was as a child but had matured enough that her character wasn’t too frustrating as I think she could have easily ended up being. The side characters of the servants were interesting too, I’d liked to have seen more of them on-page.
However, I found the pacing a little slow at times. Occasionally I felt there was too heavy a focus on the side mystery, but that might have been because I didn’t find it as engaging as other storylines in the previous books in this series.
I also found the push/pull aspects a little bit repetitive;
I would recommend it if you like regency romances that are humorous with heat and a bit of mystery.

I wasn’t quite sure really why they were so adamant a marriage between them wouldn’t work for as long as they did.I would recommend it if you like regency romances that are humorous with heat and a bit of mystery.
