I listened to this and Liberation Day on audiobook around the same time, and Liberation Day definitely left a stronger impression on me despite what I've heard people say about Tenth of December being his stronger work. There were moments in this book that grabbed me, but I doubt I'll think about most of these stories again. With that being said, I still loved the humanity and innate kindness of Saunders' characters. The empathy in his writing is what keeps me coming back.
