I'm not entirely sure what it is, but this book is missing something. There are so many background details that are glossed over, missing, or just given some hand waving that makes the book feel half finished.

The story talks about how the farm is financially under water, but there are essentially no details given about why or how. This is a 5 acre flower farm with no employees? Where do the flowers go after being cut? Who are the customers? No one, no bank would ever accept a personal check for that much money.

Pepper's autism is so inconsistent too. Her grief and fear from her childhood are always on point though. That detail was very well integrated throughout the whole story.

Opal was well characterized throughout the story. Her traits are well developed and enhance her growth during the book.

The couple of conflicts at the end felt rushed and added only as an opportunity for the two main characters to stand up for each other. I wish they had been better woven into the story.

The premise is like a delightful Hallmark movie, and the execution doesn't get any better. I almost DNF I was so bored

Main character is insufferable. It's one thing to be a people pleaser...but to have no common sense?

im never a fan of relationships that start with lust because usually the emotional connection gets ignored when its so lust focused which is what happened in this book.

the emotional connection was hardly there and it makes their relationship boring. as individual characters they are pretty fleshed out but together they dont really make sense.

they spend most of the book hurting each others feelings and being mean to each other with no real communication when fixing their problems. they kept dancing around each other not really truly expressing their feelings. i understand in the moment talking things out is hard but after they get everything together they hardly actually talk to each other its more of a casual mention then everything is fine.

the plot of the book was cute it had potential but it kept getting overshadowed by the mcs relationship and since i didn’t like their relationship it ruined my experience and i didn’t enjoy the book.

wouldn’t recommend wouldn’t read again.
