There is so much I want to say about this book but I cannot find the words. While the romance is light and fluffy, these characters are so very real it hurts. Opal and Pepper’s neurodivergence is lovely to see represented on the page but the relatability sometimes made it difficult to read as an ND woman myself. I related almost too much and it was both beautiful and heartbreaking. It’ll probably take me way longer than I want to admit to process it all. But I truly did love this book and hope that other ND folks find themselves in it the way I did. <3

I really loved the premise of the book, although it fell a little bit short for me.
The writing style was great, I just flew through the pages, although I feel like there could've been a little more work put into the different character voices as they sounded a little too similar to me.
Speaking of characters, I loved both Pepper and Opal in their own way, and could relate to them in many different instances. There were some important conversations being head on drug/alcohol (ab)use, body hair, sexual labels, and so forth, although the conversations could have been fleshed out a little more and not just grazed.
The side characters were a little underdeveloped, as is often the case in these kind of books, but their only real role was supporting the MCs and pushing them towards each other. Especially Opal's sisters - I could not differentiate them for the life of me.
The romance was cute, although a little too insta-love for my taste. At no point was I squeeling and kicking my feet whenever they first kissed or interacted. The conflict points between them felt artificial and too minor for the kind of reactions these two were having (which was sometimes actually in character for them)
I did still like the book, although it was not exactly what it had been hyped up to be.

3 stars - a cute grumpy/sunshine contemporary romance with Hallmark movie energy.
I've never read a Mazey Eddings book before but I loved her writing style and will definitely check out her other work! Opal and Pepper were both intriguing characters and I enjoyed seeing their different approaches to life and learning about their ways of thinking. The flower farm was a beautiful setting and definitely added to the story.
Although the book is written from both Opal and Pepper's POVs, they felt very similar and were hard to distinguish when reading. I also found many of the side characters were hardly fleshed out at all and didn't feel like real people. I would have liked the romance to be a little slower as it felt quite sudden, and the main conflict stemmed from communication issues, which I find a little frustrating.
Overall a fun, easy romance read - thank you to NetGalley and Headline for the arc!
