It's been a long time since I was consumed by a book. This is so much more than a typical love story. It raised difficult questions, probed the relationships we have with family and lovers, and touched me deeply. Some readers hated the ending but I thought it was perfect (if bit predictable). Any other ending would have stolen it's power.

I'll look forward to reading more by this author.

I'm a wuss. I cried through pretty much the last 100 pages of this damn book.

I really give this a 3.5. The author deals with some heavy topics, but it is not the most positive book dealing with disability. Overall I enjoyed reading it, it is a tear jerker.

#louisadeservesbetter.

That's the main thought I had about this book. This poor girl oh my gosh. She's always the butt of the joke, her boyfriend is a jerk, and everyone makes fun of her lack of "excitement." Not to mention the fact that her mom was going to kick her out. Then she gets thrown into this job solely because she's bubbly and happy and whatnot, and there is all this pressure on her to make sure. Will wants to live. Like, she feels like she is the only one who can help him, and that if he goes through with his plan it will be HER fault.

Also that ending. WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT ENDING?!?!?!! I am rating this as a 4 star specifically because it was not my favorite. Now, I did not shed a single tear, but it was just so depressing. It felt like someone had carved a hole out of my heart and stamped on it. (Bad analogy, I know.)

What made it worse was that I knew it was coming. I knew as soon as we figured out his plan he was going to die by the end. And in all reality, it was the only way to end this book. But that doesn't mean I need to LIKE it.

Anyway.

Moyes is a brilliant author. She really knows how to write. I loved her prose and the way she portrayed the characters. The story flowed well and worked great for the most part. I also really liked how Louisa went to the place in Paris where Will said he would want to go. I thought it was poetic!

I have to go and process this story now. And now I can read everyone else's reviews. Yay

I honestly don't know what to think about it. The book was difficult to put down once I started reading it. It is nothing like those cheesy romantic movies, with their unreal characters. It really is a very heartbreakingly beautiful story. I was really hoping for a happy ending till the end.

I actually hated this book. I'm so confused why it's so highly rated. At 25% through I really thought about putting it down but I'm stubborn and so I continued on and all I can say is what a waste of time. I wasn't interested in the characters, every 10 or 20 pages is the same thing, all the character's voices are exactly the same... With so many amazing books to read... I would not recommend it. I had to force myself to finish it.

Може би не ми въздейства толкова силно, защото бях гледала филма. Но финалът е точно това, което имах нужда да прочета - „Не мисли за мен твърде често. Не искам да тъжиш. Просто живей добре. Просто живей!

This book is absolutely beautiful and devastating in the most poetic way…that’s the only way I can even explain it.
