Rekommenderar.

I'm a sucker for stories, fiction or nonfiction, about the Golden Age of Hollywood. So this was an easy 5 stars for me not just because of the genre, but the story told and the authors writing style.
While this is a fictionalized and simplified biography of Marilyn Monroe, it encompasses the real life of a Hollywood starlet in the 40s and 50s; specifically those who were labeled sexy.
If you're fan of [b:The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo|32620332|The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo|Taylor Jenkins Reid|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1664458703l/32620332._SY75_.jpg|46885151] you'll enjoy this. And vice versa.

Man, I have been reading this novel forever it seems like, I started in May and kept misplacing it, then starting on others, finishing the others even after Blonde was found.
I wanted to LOVE this book, but I didn't I wish there was a half star system because I might have given it 3 1/2 stars. It made me really interested in Marilyn Monroe, I'll say that. It made her seem 'real'. I wish I would have known her, to really know what she was like. In Confessions of a Prairie Bitch by Ingram, Whitey is her make-up artist and the stories told are exactly the same. So I know there is much truth to this story.
So, overall, I really enjoyed it, here are the parts I found flaw with, I wish she hadn't written so much about her smell. I wonder why she made the 'Gemini' when that wasn't factual as far as I could find. Some of the parts of the story seemed to be like the first draft and I felt needed some editing while other sections of writing were glorious and inspired.
I so enjoyed the novel from a feminist point of view, it is sickening how she was used and thrown away like she wasn't more then a cheap blow-up doll. She made so little money in her career while the men around her who used her in all ways profited so much from her.
What a sad existence she seemed to have lived. While writing this review I changed my mind, this does deserve 4 stars because I want to know more. I want to read her biographies, watch all her movies (again if I've already seen them) and just know MORE in general.

I don’t really know what to say about this. I found the voice and quick pace un-put-downable, but I don’t feel like I am left with any lasting understanding or impression of Marilyn herself, if that makes sense.
