The chemistry between our MCs felt lukewarm at best, but the plot twist definitely threw me through a loop. I found myself forgetting to retain the information about their relationship due to this lack of chemistry & found myself rereading the same chapters several times because I felt as though the plot points were aggressively tossed in and I often felt myself wondering how we wound up in certain scenarios.

Also cannot believe that she gave up her job for him in the end regardless of their relationship status. She simply could have finished the ONE DAY of her probation period and asked to have him removed from her roster.

Also glad that this hockey romance didn’t include a surprise pregnancy from the FMC!

Still enjoyed it enough to pick up the next book though!

I really wanted to love this book more than I did, but the more I think about it, the more disappointed I become. There was soooo much sexual tension and emotions and rules in the beginning and middle of the book to then feel like the entire end was rushed. She never even fought for herself, so their arguments were over quickly because our girl is a pushover. Definitely don't feel like we saw a barracuda. I don't know. I wanted more from both of the main characters and felt like I wanted more context and substance in the end. I was happy to have Charlie and Duke back though and I'm even excited for Gwen.

Just trust me. If you like your FMC constantly chasing after the MMC who uses her only when needed, and even after realizes he loves her, wavers at the very END of the book bc his ex comes back into his life, and never apologizes for the way he treats the FMC because she "understands", then this is your book.

Had a bit of trouble with feeling disconnected in regards to the characters emotions, like as if they were jumping around in ways that were inconsistent with what they were saying/writing. This could have been that I was just missing some details but I’m not sure? The story was very good though and the conflict/ending was very clear and the emotions all felt on track for that.
