Just finished #TheHouseOfLastResort and it was everything I wanted from a horror thriller.

💭 What’s the plot? A young couple moves to Italy for a deal of a lifetime. They get a home for an unbelievable price as the town works to attract new people with offers as long as they promise to stay for a few years. Plus, the husband’s (Tommy’s) grandparents live jn the town, so it seems like the easiest decision they’ve ever made. But after they move in, they hear whispers about the house and begin to wonder if it was such a great deal after all.

🖤 Why did I love it? The pacing is so quick and you’re left wanting to figure it out. And unlike some thrillers, you don’t have to wait long. There are little reveals that help you understand what’s happening with enough left slightly unfinished that you want to keep going. Plus, the family dynamics were believable and engaging.

There was one twist that left me feeling a little less excited since it felt shoehorned more than I wanted it to, but overall I loved it and could not get enough of that ending!
