An interesting concept that ended up falling flat for me.  I would describe the story overall as fine, fully of potential but not going deep enough for what I was hoping for.  The hidden secrets linked to this land/house had me interested, and there were moments where I couldn't put the book down, but I found those becoming further and further apart as we got closer to the end.  I still enjoy Golden's writing, but he doesn't always live up to my expectations.

Really fun horror book. No need to reread, but it does an excellent job of getting dread going. I’m glad I didn’t read second half while it was dark or I when I was alone! Creepy!

I love Christopher Golden even when his books are not his best they are still good.  This was good.  It held my attention and was a good listen.
