Ah, this kills me to do this.... ick. I have been dreading typing this review because I just cannot bring myself to give Ella Frank a three star rating, but I can't see myself going any higher for the fourth book in the Confessions Series, which is damn near a shame because I have loved this trio's romance since the beginning. Anyone who is a fan of Ella Frank knows exactly what to expect from her writing style, nothing short of exquisitely written romance that is beyond all encompassing, just powerful dynamics that will leave you gutted or swooning. Unfortunately though, The Princess, The Prick, & The Priest may have her writing style dripping from the pages even still, it was missing too much, it wasn't quite something and I am still trying to put my finger on it.

Just know, reading this review may have some sort of spoilers, there are three books previous so, you have been warned I may type something rambling form that will give away its previous books details.

Ok, lets dive in.... shall we?

First, I love menage relationships. I like seeing them tear apart, the happily ever after scenarios and the ones where one in the trio walks the opposite way, I love them all. The dynamic to me is delicious. With the Confessions Series, Ella Frank really capitalized on the trio actually having their HEA, which was very much needed. More in my opinion, I needed Robbie to find his place, his heart being taken care of because shit, he has my heart, and still does. With this being said, the chemistry between Julien, Robbie and Priest was exquisite. It was a scrumptious masterpiece that during every encounter, their connection could be felt from the pages, and yet still why the lower rating? I will tell you why... Ever since book three, Priest, something lost a touch for me and in reading the fourth installment, it seemed to have continued bleeding through, making the entire storyline less enjoyable.

The Princess, The Prick, & The Priest felt awkward. From start to finish, and believe me when I say, I tried to like it, hell I tried to love it. There were several moments too where I almost thought, wow this is going to be amazing and yet, still left me unsatisfied. During the course of the development for this relationship, we get different tidbits between each one together, or separate or as the actual trio romance, all options delicious. Julien and Robbie have the most insatiable chemistry, I mean seriously, my blood is boiling just thinking about captivating their connection is, but what about Priest? There was a moment in book two, Julien, where Robbie and Priest were in the shower together, without Julien... and wowzer, this is the scene that really made my heart swoon for this dynamic and I wanted more of it. Then here again we see it when these two are in bed together waiting on Julien (you know the scene... you perverts it was yummy) and there was just this passionate connection, and yet once the trio was there it was particularly severed. I get making the trio not being two separate connections, wanting to avoid the jealousy trope, but I honestly felt that many of the romantic dynamics could have been just off set of twos without always the trio being in a shared moment.

Another factor I disliked, other then the constant disconnections between each chemistry, was that Priest seemed rather out of character for the bigger part of the novel, which I noticed started happening in the third book, Priest, he seemed off. Priest was always the broody, menacing personality, someone who demanded control, he oozed sexual confidence and yet I felt he lacked this factor, the main factor I fell head over heels for him in the first place. I don't know how else to describe this without giving major spoilers but honestly I had the hugest connection to Priest next to Robbie and I just completely lost it, lost touch with him on every aspect.

And then lastly, because there are obviously a few more dislikes, I was not sure about the ending. Ick, I know, it was what I wanted, I wanted the happy ending between this beautiful match, and yet something felt awkward. Again there is that damn word. Not once had this entire romance felt awkward until this book, and something about the ending really made this factor even hard for me to enjoy. Maybe even cheesy, it was cute and again I wanted it to end with the three together but the ending I got was, well weird. Especially when I LOVED the bar scene so much. When Nathan showed up and I got the possessive Priest back, and while he and Julien danced with Robbie in the middle - just delicious. But I just...... something was off afterwards.

Overall, I still stand by my first comments in other reviews, I still admitted it here, I loved the chemistry between this trio. The chemistry was intense, divinely delicious and beyond needed to be devoured. Robbie, Priest and Julien were absolutely amazing characters and their romance, up to this point had been mouthwatering. I am still very much a diehard Ella Frank fan, she has such a beautiful writing style with MM Romances and will follow her to the end of the world, but as much as it kills me to say it, I liked this, but I didn't like it enough to say this is fourth book I had been dreaming about. I loved aspects of it, dynamics and character dialogue, even parts of the sexual connections and playfulness that I have become obsessed with, but again, wasn't enough. Here's hoping the next blows me away, until then it is off to do a reread of Temptation Series because nothing can top Tate and Logan.

Let me just get this out of the way because I’ve been distracted the entire series – THESE COVERS ARE EFFING HOT…like can’t stop looking at them hot.

Whew, ok I feel better now…on to the important stuff.

I’m a Logan girl…I read his and Tate’s books and went back and read the series that introduced Cole because I loved them so much. I thought Robbie was fabulous when we met him in the Temptation series. I was later ridiculoulsy intrigued by the mysterious Priest and his (as we found out) alluring French husband, Julien. Reading a series about them was a no brainer for me.

I’m not going to lie…I was a little disappointed in Priest. I liked it but didn’t love it so I went into this book with really high expectations. I was NOT disappointed with this one. This book was everything I expected from their finale. There was pure, sweet romance; scorching hotness between the sheets; bring a big stupid smile to your face funny moments and the best HEA possible for this trio. And of course we get a visit from Logan and Tate!

I’m not saying anything else because I absolutely don’t want to spoil one minute of this book for anyone but if you’ve been debating this series…don’t, read it. Now.

parfait

Bravo, Ella! This was an amazing ending to the three guys’ journey. All the feels. If you are debating whether you want it to end or not, just stop! You need to read this. Robbie, Julian and Priest are just absolutely amazing together. This was the BEST HEA!!!

The Princess, The Prick and The Priest finally get their happy ending and it's perfect. But I honestly wasn't expecting anything less from these three!!

Would highly recommend

We are meant to be with one another, and if that means we want an awful lot—then so be it.
~Robbie, Julien, & Priest

*dreamy sigh*
Ella, Ella, mon dieu! You write the best MM characters EVER!❤️❤️❤️
This last book for our three gentlemen was such a delight to read! It was hot-fucking steamy actually-, sweet, heart melting, and quite a tearjerker by the end.

The Princess, the Prick & the Priest is the last book in the Confessions series (insert tears here) by the fabulous and extremely talented Ella Frank. Try was my first ever m/m novel and I haven't looked back since. My love for Logan and Tate was something I wasn't ever expecting and I never thought any other love story would come close to taking up residence in my heart. But I was wrong. Robbie, Julien and Priest have burrowed so far inside my heart and soul that I was mourning the end of the series when I was reading Robbie. I can't believe how quickly I became attached to these three men with different backgrounds, different lives, but one heart. Robbie with his sassiness, lip gloss and bubbly personality. Julien with his sexy accent, wounded heart and his love of cooking. And Priest with his gorgeous hair, stoic smile and commanding presence. Robbie, Julien and Priest are happy, living together and things are going great. But Robbie's family wants to meet his boyfriends and Robbie is scared out of his mind. What if they can't get along? What if they don't approve? It's so much easier to keep his lives separate, right? Well, no. He misses his parents and his sisters. He can do this. Julien and Priest also want to meet Robbie's family. They haven't had a family in a long time and if they are anything like Robbie, they are going to be fun, loud, and amazing. Robbie's family doesn't go easy on him, but it's all in fun. They love Robbie to death and they just want him to be happy. Julien misses having a sister and he relishes in the relationships he sees brewing between him and Robbie's family. Priest didn't have a happy childhood and being around Robbie's family, he's able to relax and just breathe. (Drunk Priest is one of my favorite parts of this story!) Priest and Julien want to make things officially permanent. Robbie is theirs and they aren't letting him go. Ever. What does forever look like for them? Will they get the happily ever after they've all dreamed of? I can't even articulate how much I adored this story. I read slower than I've ever read in my life because I didn't want it to end. I smiled pretty much the entire time. The loud Italian family got me in the feels and made me miss my big family get togethers. Robbie's dad had me bawling my eyes out. The way that Robbie, Julien and Priest talk to each other, touch each other and show their love was beautiful to watch. I just love them all so much and I can't believe how perfect they are for each other. I never thought the mouthy, loud Robbie who was all over Logan would turn out to be so utterly fantastic! Overall, I laughed, cried, had to fan myself and really didn't want it to ever end. Ella if one of the greats. Her words inspire such a range of emotions. Her characters become so real you feel like you are there watching them. I have faith in her that we'll see Robbie, Julien and Priest again :)!

A dirty-talking princess is much more fun than a proper one. Trust us, we should know ~ Julien & Priest

"Oh please," Robbie said. "You two are always on your best behavior. You're all French and gorgeous, and Priest is all smart and charming."

"There's so many of them, mostly females, and everyone talks over everyone else."
"Which explains your motor-mouth," Priest said.
"It does, actually." Robbie poked his tongue out.
"If you didn't speak up, you weren't heard."

"Do you know how I know that?
Robbie shook his head. "No."
"Because you're mine, and I love you." Priest said. "And I don't like anyone. So that must make you pretty fucking special."

"You and Robert are my life. My loves…And my life."

"We'd been looking for you. Once we found you, this was only a matter of time. "
Robbie sighed. "It feels too good to be true."
"That's how you know for sure it is," Julien said.

"You alright there Robbie?" Logan said. "Or do you need a seat in case your knees give out on you."
"Shut it Logan or…I don't know, go suck on Tate's …lemon."
"Is that what we're calling it now? Good to know."

"It's not my fault," Robbie said. "Everyone who meets Logan is dumstruck. It's like a rite of passage. His face is too perfect or something. But then he opens his mouth and -"

"Wait, you thought Logan was hot?"
"Again, I'm right here." Logan said.
Julien's eyes twinkled as he stared at Robbie. "Is. He is hot. So is Tate. How many times have you told me this?"

One of my all time favourite series.

The Three P's are in love and have moved into their dream home, and Julien and Priest are thinking about the next step and keeping their princess permanently.

I could cry at how much I adore these men! Robbie, Julien and Priest have owned my heart since I first met them in 2022 and still do to this day on my third reread. They compliment each other so well, and their chemistry is off the charts, scorching hot. The spice Ella writes is some of the best I’ve ever read.

I could gush about this series for hours and hours but if you enjoy polyamorous, spicy books with emotion and incredible backstories, then please read this series! Ella has now gone on to write the next generation for these men too 🥰
