All kinds of brutally and beautifully relatable, full of the balm of recognition that the experiences that feel most isolating are so often shared, in ways that can be impossible to express (but somehow Anna has found the words). Thank you to Anna for writing such a brilliantly honest and generous mental health memoir. My own brain that comes apart and back together again (the latter with difficulty) felt deeply soothed by your words of both pain and triumph.

So different to any other book I have read on mental illness. It feels so authentic and does not shy away from the more taboo sides. I learnt a lot about anxiety and I am really grateful to have read the book because I believe it will help me be more compassionate towards others.

I picked up this book after enjoying Anna's tweets and because I'm still learning to understand and explain the anxiety that's always inside of me. There were parts in this book that were like cracking open my brain and heart and suddenly understanding myself, especially my young self. It was beautiful, funny, wrenching, frustrating. I cried at the end and thought about crying so many times before that. I sent screenshots of parts that resonated to friends, and tried to talk about it with my parents. I can't put in to words all the ways I felt moved, but it was constant.
