I admit, I usually can't stand bestsellers - they just aren't my thing. But this one rises above the pack, and really is just that good. I was initially irritated by the choice to make one of the characters a wanna-be writer, just because that is the lamest, most unimaginative, Mary-Sue-ish thing to do with your character, I think. But here it was actually a plot point, not something to make the character look "cool". And I loved it. Couldn't put it down, couldn't stop thinking about it, couldn't wait to finish. Great narrative voices, with good distinction between the three.

Love love love this book! Saw the movie a few years ago and it's easily one of my favorites so I got the book to compare. The movie is almost a complete, true adaption. There are a few scenes left out, some aspects changed, but this book is so good. In a day where race is unfortunately still an issue to the physical eye, this book really just reminds us that who we are as humans goes far deeper than skin color. Funny, entertaining, eye opening - all in all, a fantastic read!
