I loved all the content and didn’t feel there was extra fluff added just to make the book longer like other books I’ve read (cough cough, “Let Them Theory”). I was already a fan of Brené and will be going back through my highlights to categorize into an index for continued reflection.

Started a domino effect of changing the way I think — progressing towards further inner peace.

If you're a perfectionist (especially the dysfunctional kind) and struggle with detaching your self-worth from other people's opinions, this is the book for you.
I discovered Brene Brown relatively recently via some of her Ted Talks, have finished Atlas of the Heart, and have been on the lookout for more of her books because she speaks to me like she's lived my life and felt my inner demons.
The Gifts of Imperfection gives you well-researched conclusions about how to live a wholehearted life in an easy to read narrative that's very vulnerable and relatable if you're in the target audience.
Note 1 - the bulk of the research talk is in the last 20% of the book for those interested, or you can skip it if you just want the conclusions.
Note 2 - If you've never struggled with self-doubt a day in your life, you won't get much out of this. It's one for my fellow insecure, people-pleasing fellow humans who would like to create meaningful connection without losing themselves on the way.

OK at first, I didn’t know how much I would have to gain from this because I didn’t really associate myself with the feeling of shame, however, I have to admit that the sections on perfectionism and type A behavior definitely made it make sense for me.
I enjoyed reading this. I've been working on integrating a lot of these guideposts into my life through therapy. And I'm currently following along with Brené's Unlocking Us podcast series for The Gifts.
I definitely think this is a book I'll come back to on a regular basis. Truthfully, it would be a good once-a-year kind of book. So many good gems.
