This book was a fantastic read. There’s so many things I enjoyed about it. The material really resonated with me, especially when talking about Authenticity. Wholehearted Living is something I would like to work to include in my life more so than I already do. Something I especially liked is that this is the first book I’ve read written by a religious person that mentions religion without doing so in a way that feels condescending. Most of the time when I’ve read books by religious people it’s all ‘I’m morally superior to those who don’t believe the same as me in every way’, and this book was a really nice break from that. Religion was brought up and how important it is to her was made clear, without imposing it on the reader, which I really appreciate. Overall, I’d highly recommend for anyone who wants to live in a way that is most in tune with who you really are.

I’ll end with one of my new favourite quotes from this book; “My story matters because I matter.”

Had to go back and reread this one AGAIN. Thank you Brene Brown, this is is always relevant.

Good incites about dealing with shame. Some of the book was a little to self help clichey for me. For example she literally writes something along the lines of, “this isn’t self help, it’s a revolution,” that’s cornball and overhyped. Also her frequent references to her blog and her speaking engagements were off putting.
