This book had me in a chokehold. It’s been a long time since I’ve finished a book this fast.
Enemies to lovers with an obsessive possessive alpha male. I now also find myself obsessed with Mendax. I had myself highlighting his lines left and right because they were making me feel all the feels.
And yes. That ending. Even though I knew I’d regret having to wait until February for book 2, I’m not sorry. It was so good, I’m not even mad. Okay, maybe a little mad.

Lost interest halfway through. The storyline was interesting to me and I truly wanted to finish it, but the writing is so elementary and mediocre, I just had a hard time continuing.

Just don’t even bother.
I am DNF-ing at 50% and I don’t CARE that I didn’t finish it, it’s counted towards my reading goal because I got that far without throwing it out the window.
I hate giving bad reviews but this book is terrible.
I should have stopped when the FMC was too obsessed with her coworker being in love with her, or when she tried to convince the poor old guy to get a hair cut so people wouldn’t judge her, or when by page 50 I realised it felt like it was written by a high schooler, or when the “bog monster” that looks like a frog man sexually assaulted her. She’s talking to rats in her cell and thinks these faeries trying to sexually assault and murder her are hot and the whole thing is awful. But shes hot and smart and a scientist!! She’s blonde and 5ft tall!! She’s scientist Barbie!! Gross and awful. I told my husband at about page 20 that I was disappointed in BookTok but trying to power through, I gave it a solid 140 more pages and for that I’m proud of myself. I’m never trusting my BookTok girls again
