This book was a bit or a roller coaster for me. At first I had some trouble getting into it and the whole outside world thing wasn't really my thing, but then I warmed up to it and generally the pacing picked up a lot. I noticed that with all of the VA books I've read so far: they start of kind of slow, but make up for it later on. So glad there wasn't nearly as many "in previous books" segments here! Overall, really liked this book and had fun reading it. I'm pretty sure I know the endgame for the series at this point, but I still want to know how the author gets us there.

Didn't buy Dimitri being dead for a second. Really mad at him for making Rose a blood whore, Strigoi or not. Loved the mental standoff between Rose, Lissa, Avery and others!

Was kind of still off with what happened to Dimitri but looking forward to how everything will turn out. Mead was also evolving in her throwback skills. I also like it that she includes scenarios where it happened in the past but was not mentioned in the previous book. She's getting good at it compared to the 2nd book where she explains every single thing that happened on a much more earlier book.
