A breath taking collection that left me speechless and dying for more. I love the way Gill writes in such a magical and whimsical way. She has a way with words I cannot describe but reading her work always leaves me wanting more. dont miss out on this collection.
I'm used to liking most poetry collections I read, never loving any. They're usually not what I'm looking for, but that definitely isn't the case with this one. This collection is so beautifully written and it touched my heart so deeply. I loved every second of reading it so much.

This feels an awful lot like poetry for people who do not like poetry (which there is nothing wrong about!)... and that is actually my nice way of saying that this should be marketed as a book of potential Instagram captions. Nothing new, nothing fresh, just a string of pretty platitudes made vaguely mystical by the natural phenomenon theme that runs through the whole collection. There is absolutely zero risk-taking and it resulted in me feeling zero emotion whatsoever (except for a faint satisfaction at being able to cross this off my tbr list after it vegetated there for a year). Every single poem in there was too vague and easy. I wished for something raw, a bit braver, I wished for some specifics or some more difficult themes, but lazily sparkling some feminism and a self-love campaign on white pages is simply not gonna cut it for me.
I'm giving it two stars because of course I do not consider every single poem a total bore (special mention for "The Drawing" and "Becoming") but the recipe gets old very soon: take some elemental motif like fire, the ocean or the cosmos, apply it superficially to human relationships until tapped dry, then move on to the next one. Disappointing.

I knew this was the book that had the "93% stardust" poem that circulated the internet a few years ago, which is why I got it. I'm a fan of Nikita Gill and I wanted to see the rest of the collection. I enjoyed it overall, though some parts felt repetitive. I did appreciate the themes connecting a person's strength to the forces of nature. It's a reminder that women are strong and resilient.

tbqh, i'm neutral about this collection-- although i didn't completely like ot, i didn't dislike it as well. not much, i mean. there are still a considerable number of pieces in here that is moving and beautiful, but there's onle one or two-- too few-- that i can actually relate to, emotionally.
it also annoyed me how certain phrases kept on repeating in several poems, made glaringly obvious if they're part of the same chapter. i also couldn't feel nor evoke any imageriesin almost all of the pieces as they were all about galaxies and universe and stars and planets and other celestial bodies. nagpapaka-deep masyado kumbaga. whatever.

A beautiful collection of free form poems. Very poignant and a good range of emotions were explored. I appreciated that some poems had several parts to them so that we stepped through the thought process with Gill. I would read more of her work.
I honestly adore every single poem Nikita writes. Her words awaken things in my soul like no other. She is my favourite poet and her poems never disappoint. This book was no exception! Each section struck a different chord in my heart and it was exactly what my soul needed right now. I know I will come back to this book time and time again when I need the magic of her words!
