After finding Kendra Elliot's books on KU, I started with Book 1 of the Columbia River series before realizing that so many of her series are within the same universe, which I absolutely love.
I switched to the Callahan and McLane series, and then devoured them all. Mercy was my favorite character, and I was thrilled to realize that she made major appearances in the Columbia River series as well as her own series.
Kendra does such a good job at developing and revisiting the background of different main characters that you dont need to read every book in order to feel like you know them in each new release.
In At the River, we get Mercy, Truman, and their crew as they solve both a current murder case, as well as a major cold case, and discover personal ties.
I was honored to read this book prior to its official release date, and highly recommend all of Kendra's books.

I will forever love these series and these characters that Kendra Elliot writes. I also really enjoy the police procedural / suspense in them. If you like small town mysteries with likable / relatable characters then this is for you.
