I have been eagerly awaiting Matt and Sabrina's book since I first "met" them. They did not disappoint. A great couple, great story, and perfect continuation of the series!

Please see all of my reviews on my blog at www.robinlovesreading.com.

Matt Carson is on the front page of the Wall Street Journal. As an investment banker at Wolfe Investments he actually loves the newspaper. This picture, however, shows something that could destroy the company. This infuriates his bosses. They tell him: get a girlfriend and clean up your act or get a new job. Who in the world could Matt get to look like is actually serious about settling down with, thus improving the image of the agency? Just recently, one of his best friends, Ian, and also a coworker, was accused of insider trading. He was found innocent, but the agency is still doing damage control due to that.

Sabrina Cross is not Matt’s favorite choice. Simply put, he is fully aware that she hates his guts. Yet she just might be the ideal person. Sabrina is a PR genius, so she may actually be the best person for the job. But how can she pretend to be Matt’s one and only if she can hardly bear the sight of him? Yeah, he is the hottest guy she knows, but, she really can’t stand Matt. They share a shaky past. Will they continue with their antagonistic feelings for one another, or will they give into their mutual, hotter than hot attraction?

For a quick, enjoyable read where two people really discover each other’s worth, I encourage you to read Hard Sell. It is a sizzling romance with humor, especially as the story is delivered in both Matt’s and Sabrina’s perspectives. I read this book straight through in just a couple of hours.

As this is the second book in the 21 Wall Street series, Matt and Sabrina had already been introduced. While these books can certainly do well as standalones, it was definitely a delight to have familiarized myself with the various characters. The first book in the series is Hot Asset, and the third book, Huge Deal, is due for release in February, 2019. It is Kennedy and Kate’s story. Sigh. February is so long away.

Ok this one made me cry and I loved Sabrina.

I really enjoyed this story. I liked the open communication between Matt and Sabrina. It was so sweet watching them fall in love . I still don’t get the purpose of the Jarod character though. Maybe he will get his own story

Matt and Sabrina's chemistry was off the charts crazy!

I loved everything about this book.

Matt and Sabrina.

He's a financial wunderkind who needs an image makeover when the WSJ runs a story about him at a bachelorette party in Vegas. Strippers and drugs and his clients are fleeing. His bosses tell him to find a girl and settle down or get ready to leave. She's a "fixer" and Ian's best friend and she's perfect for his fake girlfriend, if only he can talk her into it.

So, let's see if I have this straight:

1. Matt needs an image rehaul, and he asks someone who is well-known and well-loved by ALL THE IMPORTANT PEOPLE HE NEEDS TO FOOL that he's turned everything around in a heartbeat and is now dating someone who gets paid to fix problems like his.
2. He's only going to need a month-ish of pretending to be in this whirlwind relationship. After a few restaurant sightings, some hand-holding and some rumors traveling the gossip circles, extremely wealthy clients are going to forget that they fired him over hookers and coke.
3. Matt and Sabrina have had a "hate sex" relationship for years. They've had one even though Matt basically called her a whore after Night 1.
4. Sabrina, who has some f*cked up views on women due to her borderline prostitute mother, who has had to take care of herself since she was a little girl, continued sleeping with a man after he trampled on the most sensitive button in her past.
5. Speaking of mother, Sabrina left home as a teenager and has been supporting herself despite a negligent and abusive mother. As a way of coping with her childhood, she PAYS OFF HER MOM'S MORTGAGE. and spends money weekly to buy her mom groceries. and sends her birthday gifts. and tracks her mom on social media. Oh, and she is reminded of her mom EVERY TIME SHE LOOKS IN THE MIRROR AT HERSELF. So her past is an open, festering wound that Matt amplifies, and she continues to let it, and him, hurt her.
6. She doesn't think true love exists and doesn't want a relationship. maybe a marriage, more like a companion, someone who will be around so she won't get lonely. He knows this and basically feels the same way, but he doesn't want her with anyone else. TBH, she doesn't like to think about him with other women, but it's not like she's going to ruin his future changes. Which leads to...
7. Matt's unicorn client is basically Sabrina's soul mate, so Matt, AGAIN, makes her feel like a whore in front of this ideal partner.
8. Their deal originally ended at the company gala, which she is now attending with the unicorn client, instead of Matt. In front of his bosses, co-workers, clients and oh, I don't know, EVERYONE WHO THOUGHT SHE WAS DATING MATT SO THAT MATT'S REPUTATION WOULD BE SAVED AND HIS CLIENTS WOULDN'T LEAVE HIM AND HE WOULDN'T GET FIRED.

I don't care that his parents' open relationship has created this man who can do nothing but hurt a woman who is damaged. I can't respect her when she doesn't respect herself, and I certainly can't believe that she is anywhere as talented or as capable as the story wants me to believe when she is dragging all of this baggage along.

Seriously. I can't believe I made it through this.

Does Lauren Layne ever write a bad book? I think no. Hard Sell is the latest in a long list of faves. Office romances aren't always my favorite, but all that goes out the window when it's one of Lauren's books. The perfect combination of fun, sweet and sexy.

Adorable

This was an adorable “enemies to lovers”. Matt and Sabrina are so cute together. I enjoyed the book so much I couldn’t put it down. Sleep is overrated anyway. Lol!
