Eh. It was alright. I just found it all to be a little...I don't know. It just wasn't what I wanted. Didn't really like Giles or Aaron *that* much, really went off Walter as a result of reading this, and it was just too cheesy in some parts, and incredibly unbelievable in others.
I did enjoy some of the moment between Aaron and Giles in their relationship though, Elijah was a really interesting character, and I love the authors general p.o.v on life things like gender roles. Also, Minecraft references AND Halo 2? That made my nerdy heart very happy.

I love this series. I own it in both ebook and audiobook and both are great. Very well fleshed out characters who just draw you into the story and don't let you go.
Was this book "good" by any sort of objective standards? Not particularly. But it has been a spectacularly shitty week and sometimes you just want a one-day book so you can read about bunch of dumb boys falling in love in overwrought, unnecessarily dramatic ways. My biggest issue with it is is the same as my issue with the first, which is that the book was over by 70% in and the rest was an unnecessary B-plot dragging on. I expect that will be the same issue I have with the third and fourth ones when I ultimately get around to reading them.
I liked the book well enough despite its sugary sweetness. I may have to book some time with the dentist though. God, there was so much drama. It just dragged on for too long and too fraught with hysterics and recriminations. It's not a story I would ever want to revisit.
3.5 stars I guess. The narrator was awesome. It was an okay story for me. Frustrating when they didn't just fucking talk to each other instead of assuming what the other person was thinking. I'm not a fan of the miscommunication trope. The inclusion of Elijah towards the end was meh for me, and don't get me started on what his father did. That was over the top for me and it ruined the story's vibe.
The pop culture stuff is actually worse than the first one. Keane? Seriously? And the last third of the book takes a hard left turn into bonkersville.
I finished reading this book yesterday. ALL THE FEELS.
I really liked this.
It captured a capella
frenzy, and was hot.
