Phenomenal novel from first page to last. The author builds a really cool world and is able to get you on board with the journey the characters go through. It is sometimes difficult to keep track of the terminology and the lineages but the glossary at the end helped a bit. Really impressed with how this book turned out.

I enjoyed this book. I believe the writing is well done, there’s a great storyline and the characters are well developed. It was entertaining and I wanted to consistently pick it up to read it, which is always a good sign.

What I didn’t enjoy so much, is there were so many names and words and I couldn’t seem to remember all of them. Some of the names are also similar, which made it a challenge for me. Perhaps if I wasn’t so new to Fantasy, I’d have been able to get to grips with them all a little easier.

Also, I chose to read it on kindle, as the print was too small for me in the book, I didn’t know about the glossary, until I reached the end of the book. That’s something that if I’d have realised, it would have made my reading experience better, but that’s on my head. Had I been reading the paperback, I’d have seen the glossary much earlier.

I wasn’t so invested in the romance side, it felt a little out of the blue and could have benefited from a little more development.

I didn't expect to like it, but it was captivating. Love the world building, absolutely couldn't put it down.
