A cute little story but what’s with the ending? It felt super rushed and wished it was more thought out.
this one is infuriating. It has no ending!! I hate it when authors leave a story dangling like this.
Eva’s first completed chapter book. She loved it...I thought it was meh
I just don't understand how in the world there was an ax made so tiny a mouse man could wield it yet so sharp it could chop things down? This is just one among many questions I came up with along the way. I know this is a children's book and it was written for fun and imagination, but my old and grumpy mind just could not get on board. How was no one bothered by the fact that a woman birthed a mouse? And how come all of the animals could talk? Was this just a thing? Did Snowbell have long, philosophical conversations with George after Stuart left? I am left so ... confused... And that end? It was rather abrupt. Ah well, not everything you remember from childhood manages to hang on to its whimsy, I suppose.

Oh, this is a classic! If you just want a short, light, and fluffy read (or in my case listen), this is a good one! When I started this audiobook, I was transported back to my childhood, when I was so fond of the Stuart Little movies. I loved Stuart, I remember I used to watch it over and over again because of his adventures and his car! Although this book is soooooo different from the movie, it just transports me to a really serene place when I was listening to it.
Now, I'm thinking I should probably rewatch the movie again. :D

Disappointing. This odd little story was not enjoyed much by my daughter and I. And the ending? Didn't care for that either.
BORING and so dated. Would not read again. I read with with a high-achieving group of students (aged 10) and they all hated it too. I will always love Charlotte’s Web but this one was meh.
I've never read this book before but it felt nostalgic to me.
It reminds me of chapter books I read as a kid where someone (or something) has little adventures in every chapter. Your parents could just read you one chapter a night and you would think "Ah. In this chapter Stuart goes to the dentist and in this one he goes to a school." But it doesn't really have much of an overarching story.
This one also doesn't quite conclude its story just leaves you with the hope that everything will turn out well in the end. I know that can be unsatisfying for some readers.
As always I prefer to really hold back on my final judgement until I see what the kids in my book club think but overall I thought the book was cute enough.

Why is this a classic? It was not good at all. If you want to read a mouse story, read the Tumtum and Nutmeg books instead.
