Sort of a bizarre meandering tale without much internal consistency or reflection

I read this to my class for a novel study. They really enjoyed it. I am upset that we do not find out if he finds Margalo or not.

It feels unfair to label a classic as "just ok", but that is exactly how I felt after I finished reading it to my 4 and 6 year old. They "liked it" but to me it felt choppy and unfinished.

This book was really annoying.

It has no sense, the story is boring and really weird, even for kids. This is one of those times when I can say I prefer the movies.

I have read this book dozens of times... alone as an early reader and out loud to my children before bed. The escapades of Stuart are simply wonderful. The joy of having it read to me, though was entirely unexpected! I could immerse myself in my inner child and lose my self in Stuart's story. I highly recommend this audio version!
